Do your pos terminals come with POS software preinstalled?
We usually only supply hardware platforms with preinstalled OS (Windows XP, Linux, WEPOS, etc.).

It is highly recommended that you get the POS software which suits your needs locally (mainly due to language and currency).
Run PRP Series - LAN Interface on Win 7
1. Plug the supplied LAN Cable (blue cable) to the Host PC.
NOTE: DO NOT connect to your HOST PC via HUB.
Connect to your Host PC ONLY with the Supplied LAN Cable.

2. Click [Start] > [Control Panel] and double-click [Network] to access the Network Configuration.

3. Select and click mouse button to access “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)”

4. The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Propriety Setting:

5. Select “Use the Following Address” and enter the IP address for Printer. Click “Ok” to complete the setting. (use the utility to find out the IP adress for the printer)

6. Access Ethernet Test Program. Click “Connect Test” to start test. As the program response “Succeed”, you can start re-configure your IP address of your Printer.

7. Access “Printer” and to setup the Printer port.

8. Select “Standard TCP/IP Port” to add IP address.

9. Click “Next” to start configuration.

10. Enter the reserved IP Address and the name of your Printer.

11. You may configure the IP address manually by clicking customized [C] and setup [E].

12. Enter the name and IP address reserved for your printer. Select “Raw” of the protocol and click “OK” to complete the setup.

(Install Driver or INF afterwards)
Run PRP Series - Serial / Parallel on Windows 2000 / 2003 / XP / Vista / Win7
Our new utility now support windows system both 32/64 bit version up to Windows 7, 32/64/bit as well.

Please find the supplied disc for the latest software. Or you can:

1. Download the driver through Service&Support - Download section
2. Unzip it and find the PRPDRVEN V9.exe file in the Win2000_XP_Vista_7_x32&x64 folder
3. run the exe file and follow the prompts to successfully install the software
Run PRP188/250/300 Series - using USB port on Windows
1. Download driver
2. Connect your printer to your PC
3. Look for PRP188_250 Printer_USB_COM folder in the driver zip file
4. Find Win2000_XP_Vista_7_x32x64 folder in the zip file and install the .exe file inside
How to configure the IP address to my PRP-250 Printer
When connecting the printer to the Host PC, you can:

A. Perform Self-test to acquire the IP address of your printer

1.Turn off the printer.
2.Press and hold the Paper Feed Button.
3.Turn on the Power Switch of the printer.
4.Release the Paper Feed Button.

The Indicators would blink and then the printer starts printing out the self-test data, IP address is included as well.

B. Use the supplied Ethernet crossover cable and connect to your Host PC.

C. Access the control panel of your Host PC. Change the IP address of your Host PC under the same subnet to your PRP-250.
e.g.:
Printer: 192.168.123.100
Host: 192.168.123.xxx

D. Now you can open the web browser and type the IP address of your PRP-250 (as listed in the self-test paper). There is a web-based configuration menu to re-configure your PRP-250.
I couldn\'t find my Virtual USB devices in my POS?
In general, the peripherals should pre-installed and configured prior to the whole POS system is set up.

If the system couldn\'t recognize the USB devices (such as printer or customer display), you may:

1. Exit your application software.
2. Turn off the USB device.
3. Access the DEVICE MANAGER.
4. Check the Virtual COM port. Now you can turn on the USB device again. If activated, the Virtual COM port should be on-line as the USB device activated.
5. Note the Virtual COM port number and exit the DEVICE MANAGER.
6. Access the application software.
7. Examine the fonfiguration of the USB device and see if the COM port is properly configured.
8. If possible, perform test procedure.
9. Test OK.
I couldn\'t find my optional CD-ROM in my POS terminal
In general, you can purchase an optional optical disk drive (mostl the USB type DVD-ROM) and plug in the POS terminal as external drive.

When operating Windows XP,Windows 7, Windows 8,or POSReady, you may just plug the micro USB connector to the DVD-ROM and then plug the USB cable to the USB port of your POS terminal. the operating system will find and activate the DVD-ROM automatically.

For some models of DVD-ROM supply with a dual-USB connectors cable (Y-Cable type). We strongly recommend you to plug both the two USB connectors to the POS terminal. It will provide a stable power source via two USB ports and make your DVD-ROM work properly.
My USB keyboard is not functioning
For most POS terminals running Windows-based operating system, the USB devices (including USB keyboard) are functioning after you plug the USB cable to the USB port of your POS terminal.

The POS terminal will initiate the device detection and install the driver automitacilly after the keyboard is detected. Then you can use your keyboard now.

Note:
in some cases you may want to use the USB keyboard to reconfigure the BIOS settings. It is recommended to use a PS/2 type keyboard or use a USB-to-PS2 convertor on your keyboard.
The Customer Display is not Functing..
Most of TYSSO\'s Customer displays provide two types of interfaces: USB type and RS-232. You can what suit you depending on the POS system you purchased.

If you find the Customer display is not functining, please follow the steps as follows:

1. Check the power source.
If thereis no texts show on the display, check the power switch is turned on and the display is functioning.

Check the power cable of your customer display is properlly connected to the power source (if you purchase an optional power adaptor).

Examine the USB ports and see if the Y-type USB cable is connected (we recommended to plug both main USB cable and auxiliary USB cable to the USB ports) .

2. Install the USB driver
If you purchase a USB type customer display, the supplied Utility CD and install the driver so as to activate the device.

3. Reconfigure your Customer Display
Refer to your supplied Disk and read the instruction Manual. Incorrect port or code command set might be the reasons that your customer display can not function as your wish.
Connect Your Printer to POS terminal using a crossover cable
When connecting the printer to the POS terminal:

1. Use the supplied Ethernet crossover cable to a direct cable connection to your POS terminal.
2. Plug the RJ-45 Connecter to the printer.
3. Plug the other RJ-45 connector to the Ethernet port of the POS terminal.
4. Switch on the POS terminal and access the operating system.

Now we are to assign the IP address to your POS terminal and establish the connection.

1. Open Network and Sharing Center by clicking the Start button, clicking Control
Panel,
Clicking “Network and Internet” and then access the “Network and Sharing Center”.
2. Right-Click and access the Propriety of the Ethernet Icon (the Ethernet port connected to the printer)
3. Click “Internet Protocol” and access the propriety of it. input the IP address different from the Printer (under the same subnet).
e.g.: Printer: 192.168.123.100
Host: 192.168.123.xxx

Warning:
Be sure to assign the IP address of the Host PC under the same subnet as your Printer

Now you can turn on the printer and install the driver, perform the printing works.
How can I configure the Code Page of the Receipt printer
There is a configuration utility for Code Page Configuration

Place the supplied Utility CD into the CD-ROM drive.

1.Browse the CD and open the folder “Receipt Printer” to install the required software.
2.Open the folder “Tools” to access the utility software.
3.Click the folder “SetCodePage” to access the software
4.Double click the icon “Setup.EXE” to initial installation.
Follow the instructions to install the utility.

* Configure your printer

This utility can help user to setup the code page of the printer.

Note: Before Setup

It may need to re-configure the printer prior to the codepage setup (e.g.: DIP switch).
It’s recommended to consult the technical personnel relating to the information about the code page and application.

*Interface
User can establish communication with printer via this menu. Select the proper sub-menu by the connection type of the printer.

For Serial COM Port:
Select the proper COM port and baud rate to establish communication.


For Parallel LPT Port:
Select LPT1 as the printer port to establish communication.



For Ethernet (TCP/IP):
Enter the IP address of the printer to establish the communication.



*Select Page Code

To the codepage desired:
1.Make sure to the DIP switch 4 of the printer is set ON (please refer to DIP Switch Configuration for further information).
2.Go to the scroll menu and the preset codepage desired.

User can enter the codepage number into the field manually. (Please refer to the printed Self-Test page for the code number support).

3.Click “Set” button to confirm the setting.
4.Re-initiate the Printer:

Be sure to Turn-Off and Turn-On the printer again to initiate the printer with new codepage setting.

(User can perform the self-test again to exam the new codepage setting)
